[PATCH 0/4] {master} diagnostics: improve some locations

Some (installed) improvements in the locations.  Some messages could
be improved if we had support for multi-part locations, but that's for
the future.

The fact that locations are out-of-order is annoying, I'll see if
I can do something about it.
