long hostname problem with a2ps

Greetings,

When walking through the FreeBSD bug-reports I found this one:

It complains about that a2ps aborts under FreeBSD if the hostname
is too long. And too long is longer than 34 characters. I've made
a patch which I hope will soon be added to the FreeBSD ports
distribution so it won't happen on FreeBSD systems anymore. But in
the meantime, other systems will still have this problem.

How can I help you to get this solved out for future releases?
