Configure doesn't recognize Alpha DS10 system

I am installing a2ps-4.12 on an HP AlphaServer workstation (model DS10) and the
configuration fails. Specifics are:

When I ran the ./configure, I get the following error:

checking host system type... Invalid configuration `alphaev6-dec-osf5.1':
machine `alphaev6-dec' not recognized

checking build system type... Invalid configuration `alphaev6-dec-osf5.1':
machine `alphaev6-dec' not recognized

checking for ranlib... ranlib
checking for non-GNU ld... /usr/bin/ld
checking if the linker (/usr/bin/ld) is GNU ld... no
checking for BSD-compatible nm... /usr/ucb/nm
ltconfig: you must specify a host type if you use `--no-verify'
Try `ltconfig --help' for more information.
configure: error: libtool configure failed

I replaced the config.sub file in the auxdir directory with the corresponding
file from the GNU plotutils-2.4.1 which allowed the configure to work.
grep'ing for alpha on both files reveals these differences:

config.sub from a2ps-4.12:

                | alpha | alphaev5 | alphaev56 | we32k | ns16k | clipper \
              | alpha-* | alphaev5-* | alphaev56-* | we32k-* | cydra-* \

config.sub from plotutils-2.4.1:

                | alpha | alphaev[4-8] | alphaev56 | alphapca5[67] \
                | alphaev6[78] \
              | alpha-* | alphaev[4-8]-* | alphaev56-* | alphapca5[67]-* \
              | alphaev6[78]-* \

I have not verified whether this problem also occurs in version 4.13.

BTW: a2ps really rocks. I use it for all my software development printing
(mostly C) and use it to produce reports across my plant. It provides a common
look and feel to all my customers. You've done very well!
