Let me say this again: the point of bash Posix mode is not to reduce
bash's functionality to just what Posix requires.  It never has been.
The reason for Posix mode is to change behavior where the default is
different from what Posix specifies.  Posix explicitly allows this,
and other Posix shells have extensions beyond strict Posix conformance.
