Try deleting /var/cfengine/env_data.
I saw exactly this error with alpha versions of 2.0.0 and found
cfenvd was dying and leaving the half-formed "pin-(" class in env-data.
Deleting the env_data file allowed cfengine to run again.
I haven't seen this problem with the final version of 2.0.0.
