  i'm more of a dabbler than a developer, so i doubt i would
be submitting any real code (only a cosmetic change here or
there).  i don't use cvs or subversion but i'm sure i could
pick up on whatever the general consensus is.
  however, i would like to mention that i and a few other
folks were talking with mark at LISA about documentation,
and we're planning on setting up a small team to update and
possibly rewrite the tutorial as well as maintain the
reference.  it's been a very slow start, but hopefully we'll
be able to pick things up once the holidays are over and begin
soliciting input from the community.  i can forsee us using
whatever version control system is decided upon for the
documentation as well, so i thought it would be relevant to
bring it up at this point.
