I'm happy to announce the availability of findutils version 4.2.5 at
ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/findutils.
The findutils 4.2.5 release includes bugfixes, documentation
improvements, and functional enhancements. The latter are the most
important and notably include support for the POSIX options -L and -H.
The NEWS file for this release says :-
* Major changes in release 4.2.5
** Functionality Changes
*** The POSIX options -H and -L are supported. These control whether or not
find will follow symbolic links.
*** The BSD option -P is also now supported (though in any case
it is the default).
** Documentation improvements
*** Better documentation for "xargs -i".
** Bug Fixes
*** "make install" now respects DESTDIR when generating localstatedir.
(this is only relevant if you are installing to some location
other than the one that you indicated when you ran "configure").
*** Compatible with automake versions 1.8 and 1.9.
*** Build problems on UNICOS now fixed, though the linker will still generate
warnings because we try to link with the nonexistent library
"-lsun". Edit $(LIBS) to work around this problem.
