emacs core dumps (may be the same bug as reported earlier)

From: Boris Aronov
Subject: emacs core dumps (may be the same bug as reported earlier)
Date: Tue, 26 Jun 2001 13:18:43 -0400 (EDT)

This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!!
Please write in English, because the Emacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.

In GNU Emacs 20.7.1 (sparc-sun-solaris2.7, Motif)
of Fri Jun 23 2000 on giraffe
configured using `configure --with-gcc --with-x-toolkit=motif --with-pop'

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

Emacs' previous session, which ran for at least a few days and maybe
as long as a month, core dumped. The core is attached, but it's a bit
useless as it's been truncated---not enough space on that drive. The
dump occured after I typed a confirming RET to the choice of a coding
system prompt, probably coming from someplace in the bowels of
reportmail trying to read my mailbox and encountering stuff that was
not ASCII.

Attachment: core
Description: Binary data
