problem with mail-extr

I seem to be having a problem with mail-extr and one word names. I use
Trivial-Cite to handle citing with gnus and if I try to reposnd to an
email address like:
longshot <longshot@f1.n1.z1.fidonet.org> mail-extr responds with
longshot@f1.n1.z1.fidonet.org however responding to an email address
with more than one name, ie sean rima <etc@etc> then mail-extr picks
up the correct real name. "mail-extr-ignore-single-names" is set to
nil but still doesn't do it.

I am using GNU Emacs 20.7.1 (i386-suse-linux, X toolkit), gnus
5.0909/cvs, tc 0.12.
