I am using GNU Emacs with w3.el:
WWW 4.0pre.46, URL p4.0pre.46, MM 1.96
Here is a way of reproducing the bug:

* Do a emacs -q
* Do a M-: (load "w3") RET
* Do a M-x w3-fetch RET M-DEL thomas.est-ici.org/ RET

It is a self-refreshing page; Emacs crashes when it tries to refresh.
