Details:
In egrep 2.5.1 under Linux 2.4.5 on i686
expressions of the form \x{N} where 6000 <= N <= 6989 (hex), e.g.
\x{6581}, cause egrep to hang with 100% CPU usage. This does not happen with
grep or fgrep. This is not a joke.
