Details:
rpctrace seems to fail, early, on any statically linked binary.
root@qemu-hurd-1:~# cat hello.c
#include <stdio.h>
int main()
{
printf("Hello, World!\n");
return 0;
}
root@qemu-hurd-1:~# gcc -static -o hello hello.c
root@qemu-hurd-1:~# rpctrace ./hello
task135(pid15584)->vm_statistics () = 0 {4096 536653 37903 166974 21618
4215079 0 562871 376418 16292599 1198129 1737017 1708979}
Child 15584 Killed
root@qemu-hurd-1:~#
I've tested this on a stock debian-hurd-20190220.img.gz downloaded from
https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/ports/latest/hurd-i386/
