OK, then for 80% or larger keyboards, I think this set everyone agrees, and all can be reassigned.

shift - shift

ctrl - ctrl

alt - meta

win - super

caps lock - caps lock

F1 - system

F2 - network

F3 - status

F4 - terminal

F5 - help

F6 - clear_input

Page up - abort

Page down - resume

Home - break

End - end

left-up-down-right are hand keys.

Björn, you said you use F7 as Page, I guess it means clear-screen in cadet.

You dont use Insert and Delete for anything ?

   Left/Up/Down/Right are much better as Hand-left etc! I think what AMS
   mentioned about left/etc was a misunderstanding? As I wrote, I don't use
   them for break etc.

Maybe it is something I came up with ... My keyboard does't have
home/end/pageup/pagedown.
