I think that this should be brought up and discussed on the bug-make@gnu.org
mailing list rather than here in the bug tracker.
In order to help we'd need to know some information from the config.h
generated on the system (for example, whether HAVE_WAITPID is set). You'll
need to investigate whether your version of waitpid(2) accepts the -1
argument, as defined by POSIX, etc.
Debugging this type of thing via the bug tracker just isn't efficient. If we
figure out the problem and there's something for GNU Make to do, we can add
info here and re-open this issue.
