That is very strange!  GNU Parted doesn't use external mode (it's useful
for installers, and such).  Smells like memory corruption.  Could
you stick a breakpoint on exception_handler, and send in a backtrace?

Eeek!  We've seen this before...

Did you compile this yourself?  If not, could you try?  Tell me how it
goes!  If it still fails, could you send in your config.h?
