Hello,
I need some help with the debian bugreport found at :
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=228870
Main point are :
The harddisk is an old quantum fireball, with caracterstics of :
The hard disk is seen by the BIOS with these characteristics:
Quantum Fireball_tm2110A
Capacity: 2112 MB
Cylinder 4092
Head 16
Precomp 0
Landing zone 4091
Sector 63
The kernel declares it as :
hda: QUANTUM FIREBALL_TM2110A, ATA DISK drive
hda: attached ide-disk driver
hda: 4124736 sectors (2112 MB) w/76KiB Cache, CHS=4092/16/63, DMA
But parted doesn't like it because of :
Using /dev/ide/host0...
No implementation: Partition 1 isn't aligned to cylinder boundaries.
Need to add support for this.
Information: The operating system thinks the geometry on /dev/...
is 4092/16/63. Therefore, cylinder 1024 ends at 503.999M
This was after having added a two partitions (cyl 1 to 496 and cyl 497
to end_of_disk) with the debian-installer stuff.
Friendly,
Sven Luther
