bug while attempt to read the partitiontable of /dev/hda ...

Hallo,

at the beginning of the update from SuSE 9.0 to SuSE Linux 9.2 parted
was not able to read the partitiontable neither of /dev/hda nor
/dev/hdb.
So i booted the Rescue System.
After logging in as root, i issue parted /dev/hda p.
The following bug was found:

"Assertion (heads > 0) at disk_dos.c:485 in function
probe_partition_for_geom() failed"

After answering the question "Ignore/Cancel ?" with i (ignore),
the next bug appeared:

"Assertion (sectors <= 63) at disk_dos.c:490 in function
probe_partition_for_geom() failed"

version of parted : 1.6.15

ls -l /usr/sbin/parted:
        ... 44176 (Bytes) Oct 6 14.23 ...
