Sergey, here is another trivial thing:
$ info ./xref5.info # attached
f RET # follow link to emacs
observe that point is at the first "E" in "The Emacs Editor". This is an odd
location to end up at. It seems like it should be either be the "T" or the
newline before the title. (Emacs 23 info puts it on that newline, older Emacs
on the "F" of File:, which also seems ok to me.)
If the xref is changed to have a node name, i.e., "Top", the location in
emacs.info after following is different. Seems like that shouldn't matter.
here's the texinfo:

@setfilename xref5.info
@node Top
@xref{,,, emacs, The GNU Emacs Manual}.
