Guys,Been looking for a solution that can run on Win7 or higher for HTTPS downloading. However, I don't understand the whole GNU thing, other than it's open source and generally free software. I've looked at the software links and don't know what to do here. I don't recognize a typical Windows installer package with any of these file extensions. I really don't know where to begin. I looked for installer info on your website, and it appears you expect all users of the site to "just know" what to do here. I really need to have this kind of software, since the alternatives are very pricey and we can't afford it. But, I really don't know how to install and implement, I'd like to see scripting examples and how to execute the program and scripts in an automated Windows environment. I see no documentation on how to make this happen.
I know a few things about computers, have even built several and put Windows on them, but I don't consider myself a computer geek, and I know even less about how to write scripts and install specialized software. In short, I'm an RF and audio engineer, not a computer engineer. So, please write your repsonse with that in mind. I've noticed that too many of these kinds of sites seem to think we are all at the same level as you all when it comes to using this stuff. Given the specialized nature of the software, I understand there is some learning curve, but I learn best by examining examples and having the syntax carefully explained in the order of operation to achieve an end. If I don't have a starting point and reference, I get lost in all the gibberish. Nothing can be taken for granted.
