Wouldn't

-dd count=10 if=/dev/urandom conv=notrunc iflag=fullblock of=unwritten.withdata
+dd count=10 if=/dev/zero | sed 's/\(.\)./\1 /g' | dd conv=notrunc 
of=unwritten.withdata

defeat the compression logic?
