Follow-up Comment #1, bug #59684 (project denemo):

Hello!

Here is a quick update and a patch:

guile-2.2 is due for removal in Debian 12 (bookworm);
see Debian Bug #991358 "guile-2.2 should not be in bookworm"
at https://bugs.debian.org/991358

As such, denemo 2.5.0-1 for Debian is currently
"Marked for autoremoval on 09 July due to guile-2.2: #991358, #994930":

> Version 2.5.0-1 of denemo is marked for autoremoval from testing on Sat 09
Jul 2022.
> It depends (transitively) on guile-2.2, affected by #991358, #994930.
> You should try to prevent the removal by fixing these RC bugs.

Encouraged by the Guix blog post
<https://guix.gnu.org/tr/blog/2020/guile-3-and-guix/> about most programs
requiring
only a change to configure.ac to migrate to Guile 3,
I decided to try the same (similar to the fix for bug #54821).

Please see the attached 0002-Add-support-for-Guile-3.0.patch

I am happy to report that Denemo 2.6.0 builds fine with Guile 3.0,
and seems to run just fine too!

I must admit, however, that I don't really know how Scheme is used inside
Denemo,
so I'll have to leave it up to you for more comprehensive testing
and bug fixes if necessary.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Anthony Fok
