thanks, i assumed that there were more clients, and that the FSF
would (or already has) enabled API access
with mediawiki, or any free software which is used by so many
people, if it does not appear to suit your use-case perfectly,
the first assumption should be, that many other people have the
same use-csae, and that several of them have already modified it
or written external tools to fit that niche - one usually just
need to look for them
john has verified that the API is enabled, and that the FSF is
willing to ensure that API access is useful to people - this
proposal requires nothing more from the FSF, to be achieved -
even if this proposal is totally rejected, the proposed git
interface could still be written (just as 'mvs' was); and people
could start using it in that way, without modifying mediawiki,
or replacing it
this is what free software is all about - people can use it
however they want to - permission is generally not required -
just do it :)
