Discord

I know that Discord is nonfree. It would be helpful if anyone could help me find which protocol that it is using. I could not find any documentation regarding the protocol at discord.com

I assume that we could list free Discord clients in the Free Software Directory if all protocols are free and, if a free Discord server is distributed. If not, then we could encourage the free software community to develop it as long as the protocol(s) are free.
