Since we now have the MusicKit compiling on Linux using GnuStep, perhaps
it 
would interest GnuStep people to know more about it and perhaps provide

link to www.musickit.org. It is an open source package of frameworks and 
user applications for representing, performing and synthesizing music
and 
audio (using the accompanying SndKit).
