(i.e which website?)I was thinking we would just run our own, and have it live within the new site structure, hence my request for a good PHP-driven forum package. J.
Since I am probably the "one developer" Helge mentionend, who uses forums, I think I can somewhat usefully recommend phpBB3 (RC7 currently).
If you run a forum, you need to have a maintainer at least. Forums also get a lot of spam. They also need constant surveillance for vulnerabilities. Don't install it on a machine that mustn't ever get "owned" :)
Active forums need active moderation. It's not setup and forget. But it's worth it IMO.
