I don't know where you got mpdcon from, but with GAP [1], we have over the
last couple of years added a lot of otherwise abandoned programs, keeping
them from bitrotting and even added new features here and there.

If you have suggestions about good programs, can point us to the source,
we may add more programs to GAP. All those abandoned programs not compiling
or working also just bugged me, and we just started looking into it and 
resurrecting
them.
