PikoPixel version 1.0 BETA6 is now available.

PikoPixel is a free, open-source pixel-art editor for Mac OS X & GNUstep, released under the AGPL v3 license.

--- Release info:

Version 1.0 BETA6 for GNUstep includes a number of UI tweaks & bugfixes. It has been tested on several OS distributions (Kubuntu, Mint, openSUSE, Raspbian, PC-BSD, Ubuntu), desktop environments (Cinnamon, KDE, LXDE, MATE, Unity), & window managers (Compiz, KWin, Marco, Metacity, Muffin, Openbox, Xfwm).

Screencasting functionality is now enabled for PikoPixel on GNUstep (it was previously Mac-only): Select "Enable Screencasting Popup Panel" from the Panel menu, and a popup window will appear when the left mouse-button or a key is pressed - useful for presenting demos.

--- Getting & building PikoPixel for GNUStep:

PikoPixel for GNUstep must currently be built from source code (no packaged binaries yet); Its source archive is linked at the bottom of the webpage (not the green "Download" arrow, which downloads the Mac binary):

Version 1.0 BETA6 requires a GNUstep development environment pulled on November 5, 2015 or later.

Thank you to Fred Kiefer and Riccardo Mottola for contributing to this version.

Please send questions, comments, or issues to pikopixel (at) twilightedge (dot) com.

Cheers,

Josh
