There is around 1 major release every 6 month, since now several years. In most cases 1 major release around april and another one around october. Oh, it's same than ubuntu ! I discover this now. It was not done on purpose. Just a coincidence. But we are not as ponctual tha ubuntu. This means, 3.1 will be available around october but may be november or before. This also means a beta must start soon. Because a beta must last 2 month (at least) and a release candidate (before final release), must last at least 1 month.
