This press release was specifically intended for community news
outlets, with the purpose to attract developers to the DotGNU
project.

Maybe the next press release will indeed be meant for "the
larger non-Geek world", so it certainly can't hurt to think now
(before everything is urgent) about a good procedure for
creating the press release.
