Ok well here is some info on the packe i recieved from microsoft:
Microsoft calls .Net "An XML Web Services Platform", and they strongly stress
the openness of XML, not .NET itself. They also stress that .NET is standard
Based...it sounds like they are trying to make it seem "open" to the ignorant,
which will be something DotGNU can REALLY provide.
"It provides an application execution environment that manages memory,
addresses versioning issues, and improves the reliability, scalability, and
security of your application"
"It offers developers the benefits of a modular architecture, economical and
linear scaling, security reliability, mangeability and high availability."
it also breifly mentions ASP.NET, which i have never heard of before... it says
it will be the next generationn of Active server pages...nothing else on that
really.
This is basically some of the key points of the packet. If there is any
further info or detail you would like just e-mail me.
