I disagree outright, if we don't do something with this - MS owns the net anyway. If C# takes off, then we've got an alternative. If C doesn't take off, then our insurance policy was bought in vain and we have an extra language to leverage for our own purposes. But ignoring C# won't help us - ignoring MS' authority WILL help us.
I wonder if there's a middle ground in which one ignores C# until there's solid evidence that it's garnered more than minor developer support. The goal being to avoid helping boost a language that might flop on its own if non-Microsoft forces didn't endorse it with an implementation. Ron Burk Windows Developer's Journal, www.wdj.com
