There is a *free* software IDE that is almost a perfect clone
of VS. It's called KDevelop and is GPL'd. It is quite a match for
MS IDE and can be configured extensively to manage more than the
usual C/C++.
It also has support for a GUI designer and a Language Strings
generator. (qtdesigner & kbabelfish).

check http://www.kdevelop.org and tell me if it's good (it is !).

The name is catchy enough and we really need a MAC guy to make it
*user friendly*. I can help if the stuff is in GTK/GNOME .
I think developing Anjuta for C# will be the ideal path. (yeah , I'm lazy).
