I also got a question: what functionality do the webservice servers(SEE,DEE,VRS) provide to the webservice?
In the case of SEE, identity. In a cooperating plugin (uses the SEE plugin API), you will be able to query the identity information from the SEE. However, SEE is not responsible for actual webservice communication; that would be inefficient, and would tie you down to specific protocols. That functionality belongs in libraries for direct use by webservices. AFAIK, these libraries are not ready yet. However, I do believe someone is working on a JabberRequest system or something like that; I got queries on #dotgnu about how to use the WebRequest system for extending URI-based requests. I'll post a quick tutorial here if any1's interested.
Now, from my limited understanding of DEE and VRS, they may provide some communication to other parts of the "Internet operating system", that is, computers joined in the VRS or DEE.
