I believe that the whole RPC vs linking thing is very serious.
I can see no functional difference between what GNU defines as linking and
RPC via XMLRPC/SOAP etc... Does anyone have a clear argument?
I can see no way to clearly define the difference in a way that any a judge
could make a judgment that would last any kind of appeal. Does anyone have a
clear definition that separates the two?
Is GNU going to 'open up' to RPC 'linking' and not treat RPC the same as
.so/DLL dopen, or is it already doing this? Or is the issue that without a
clear definition of one, its not possible to allow just the other?
