Hi all,
I just fixed the last bug that caused the standard tests in
"pnet/samples" to fail on my machine using a pnet-compiled
version of pnetlib (a dumb codegen bug in cg_arith.tc which
stopped Hashtable working correctly). Gopal's and Jonathan's
hard work has gotten the compiler very close to perfect.
Even pnetmark, Xsharp, and Qt# are now working completely to
parity under pnet. I have a weird compiler bug trying to build
pnetcurses frogger that I need to look into, but that's about it.
So, I'm almost at the stage where I'm ready to ditch the
MS-compiled assemblies. How about everyone else? Are there
any programs that you have that work with MS-compiled pnetlib,
but not pnet-compiled pnetlib? (I've updated pnet/samples
in CVS with the latest MS-compiled assemblies for comparison).
If everyone is happy with the current state, then I suggest
that we replace the MS-compiled assemblies with pnet-compiled
assemblies for version 0.4.8, and see if it breaks anything
for other people out in the wild. Then we should be free of
MS-compilation forever from 0.5.0 onwards.
Cheers,
Rhys.
