I have found Monday evening as the most ideal time to announce a major 
release.  This assures it is a top item Tuesday morning for European viewers, 
and generally remains so by the time you roll back to the US.  However, I 
have done releases at any particular time, and have not found any time that 
was truelly that much more ideal than any other.
