I definately agree with that sentiment.  At the same time, I'll
continue to think about how to get funding for the major
posters project that I have in mind (and I'll not drop that goal
just because of difficulties with getting it funded).

I don't think we need to squeeze freedom into the "Making the web work
for you" slogan which is intended for marketing DotGNU to its potential
_users_.  There are two different issues here.  One is that we need
words and graphics that communicate our "free software" message
clearly.  These will be the main content of the posters, and that's
the part that RMS was talking about.  The other issue is to continue
thinking about marketing DotGNU to its potential users (most of which
care first and foremost about making things work), the slogan which
we currently have for this purpose is "Making the web work for you",
it may be possible to improve on it, but when working on it we need
to think about the concerns of those potential users where marketing
measures are necessary to make them even consider using GNU software.
This DotGNU marketing slogan must be on the posters in some way, but
the main purpose of the posters will be to communicate the freedom
message.  I think the DotGNU marketing slogan should be in smaller
letters.

Why not?  The GPL can be printed on a piece of paper and distributed
with the posters.
