That is exactly why I suggested it should not be in the top level of
the Help menu. Users might never open that submenu, since they don't
know what Apropos means.

Is commonality really important? Perhaps it is best to consider each
menu item independently when trying to find the best name. Then the
challenge of telling it clearly becomes easier.

Let me clarify that. Lookup is not so bad as a prefix for items as you
have them now, since it is only a part of the menu item name. But as a
name for the submenu, I think it would be misleading. The alternative
I offered is clearly not appropriate, so if we decide to change the
top level submenu name, then we will need to come up with something
appropriate; perhaps just "Search" or "Find".

Then "Apropos Documentation" would do. Once it is in context of a
submenu that is clearly named, the word "Apropos" will not be as
confusing to users, but if you still think it is too confusing, then
perhaps we should only use the word "Apropos" in the help text.
