I've never really known what's NEWS-worthy and what isn't. My gut tells
me that changing an option's default -- when the new value doesn't
represent an addition or removal of features -- isn't worth it. If this
change ends up significantly changing behavior for some users, I think
that would be a sign of unintended consequences and we should consider
rolling the change back until we understand it better.
