The issue at hand is not the development of Emacs as a whole, though. But a very specific area.
I don't understand why this is seen as some kind of negative or derogatory remark. It is just the consequence of the person's interests and responsibilities.
I don't understand how you don't see it as negative and divisive, especially given the context and where this discussion is going.
