I downloaded and built a fresh CVS copy of emacs this morning (Oct 1, 2003),
which
captures the compile update you were probably referring to above:
http://savannah.gnu.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs/emacs/emacs/lisp/progmodes/compile.el?r1=1.280
1. With this latest compile.el and (setq compilation-window-height 20):
a. M-x grep works properly for the *first* invocation of M-x grep
(i.e. finds the proper number of matches)
b. M-x grep fails to find any matches for the *2nd and subsequent*
invocations of
M-x grep.
2. If I change (setq compilation-window-height nil) then M-x
grep starts working properly again.
Let me know if you need any additional details.
