Could you give us some vague hint as to how it fails to work ?
For example, error or warning messages returned by M-x server-start
or by emacsclient,
Also when did it start failing ?
Finally, which emacsclient are you using ? You have to use Emacs-CVS's
emacsclient to access Emacs-CVS's server.
