Indeed. 
So maybe save-place doc string needs some update.

I have controlled that it is fixed  both in my GNU/Linux Debian and with OSX
Carbonized Emacs.

I  suppose that  i should  have  think of  it if  i  have picked  an eye  in
saveplace.el, but...
