This is a general problem in the way Emacs handles the menu bar and the
tool bar (i.e. first they are there when the window is mapped, and then they
are removed).  It happens for about half of the window managers.  It is
basically a race problem between Emacs, the window manager and the X server.

I have a solution to this (and other geometry related problems), but since
this is highly window manager sensitive operations, I'd like to test it
on those WM:s I have (about 15).  I haven't gotten around to that yet.
