So after running in GDB for some weeks I finally got a crash (not a
hang this time) Below is the output from GDB. Again, apologies for my
lack of sophistication in using GDB; I looked in etc/DEBUG for
suggestions of what to do in this case but didn't find any (or at
least none that *I* understood as applying to this case). Anyway, here
