I think that's true in this case too.

Though there will inevitably be a few people with unusual requirements,
I think most tend to use a given .emacs file with a single installation
of emacs, and the emacs installation only gets upgraded, never
downgraded.

[Even people that occasionally use an older version of emacs probably
wouldn't be excessively bothered by a few customized faces reverting to
the default when they did so.]

All the ones I renamed were.
