I see, I thought in 21.3 it was different, but probably confused the
expected behaviour with that of ispell-complete-word.  (I shouldn't
have presented this as a bug and next time I'll make a note and
experiment a little longer.)

Because it would be more efficient and consistent, it is unlikely that
one has any business to do inside a corrected word and M-TAB moves
point (to the end of the completed word) as well.

Imagine you are at the end of a misspelled word and the suggestion
from ispell is 2 characters longer, you end up 2 characters inside the
newly inserted word and must skip out of it before you are able to
edit further.  The same happens when the cursor is inside the word to
be corrected.
