I don't think that you can expect some speed or memory improvement.
However, I believe there have been some changes concerning the tabulated
potentials...
To find that out, anyone else from the list should answer that question,
or you'll have to check
http://espressowiki.mpip-mainz.mpg.de/espresso/release_notes.html
for any changes.
On the other hand, it is not necessary nor is it recommended to get the
administrator to install the newest version. Instead, you should better
compile ESPResSo yourself to get the optimal performance!
