It is a success that Fred is invited now.
He should address the problem if he decides to speak there.

It is always a hard question to decide if an event
is worth boycotting or participating in if the
general circumstances of the event are not favourable.

Unless the event is _clearly_ using foul practices,
most people will not understand if be boycott it,
even when there is a good reason to do so.

So me rule of thumb is that Fred should use the opportunity to 
even enlight more people about what the Free Software community
is really about and participate at the round table.
A lot of people have not heard enough about Free Software and the
motives behind it to really have an educated opinion. 
Each person knowing more about Free Software and the movement
after the round table will be a win for us.

The other consideration is time.
If this happens too often it might take up our time needed for other
things. As I understood that table it important, so it might be
worth the time.
