This version has added a + 1.05 or greater version of Firefox. This version has added a drawable canvas window that supports hardware acceleration, and is designed to support things like rendering directly into thecanvas without needing OpenGL.
Canvas didn't appear until Firefox 2.0. (There never was a 1.05, either, although there was a 1.0.5)
Although, if this is talking about using canvas for gnash's rendering, I _seriously_ doubt that would be a workable idea. For one thing, it would make text selection impossible since canvas is bitmap only, for another it would add another *several* layers of overhead and would probably make decent performance near impossible, and there's probably a bunch of other problems as well. You can talk to people who know more about it than me (I haven't used it for anything, though I did follow as it was being specced) but I think the paragraph should probably just be removed.
